When some of your fondest memories growing up involve jumping out of bed at ridiculous times to watch the early morning Grand Prix races, there really isn't a lot of chance you will get through life without aspiring to emulate one of your hero's. 

In my case,

Unfortunately for me and the majority of other kids with a love of motorsport, Knowing where to start and how to fund your dream is never easy.

​

Fast forward a few years and I could finally justify spending a little on the odd go-kart session here and there,

Generally for someone's  birthday or work trip. 

It was at that point I realised the majority of races I took part in I managed to win.

​

As things generally do, one thing led to another. 

I stumbled across a competition where people like me could enter with the hope to gain a career in motorsport.

​

The Cars we would be racing were Ginetta G40's.

This didn't mean a lot to me at that point but I knew it was something I wanted to try my hand at.

​

The competition went really well for me and I gained so much experience from the instructors throughout the whole competition, Unfortunately just before the chequered flag I managed to make a slight mistake which meant I was out of the competition, along with my chances of winning.

​

After driving the Ginetta I realised just how much of an amazing little car the G40 is, There was no way I was leaving my hopes and dreams on the track after just one spin. 

I had in fact finally caught the bug I couldn't put down.

​

At that point I made the decision to put my dreams on hold of racing an F1 style car.

Instead I immediately started the search for the more affordable Ginetta G40 to help me gain even more experience driving these great cars.

​

Eventually at the close of 2018 I managed to secure the car - Since then I have been trying to get as much seat time as possible in order to perfect my skills.

I decided you can only be the best -  if your trained by the best.

With the help of Ginetta's Mike Simpson, Charlie Robertson and BTCC legend Colin Turkington I have been gaining experience around various circuits including Silverstone, Donington Park and Oulton Park. 

 

At the start of 2020 I made a commitment and signed up to Ginetta's GRDC.

There are two categories in this series. 

Pro and Am

Generally I would have entered the Am class which is for complete novices. Having said that I do love a challenge. I opted instead to enter the Pro class which is for drivers of any experience level. This is a massive risk, however I believe there are huge benefits following this route rather than going down the Rookie route.  

I would have been restricted to have my car set up and ran by Want2Race Motorsport team if I had chosen the Rookie - Am Series

I originally made the decision to run the car as a family team operated by my brothers garage ARP. 

We were obviously missing race experience which can only be gained following many championship victories and years in the sport.

Looking around the paddock there were many other motorsport teams who were keen to be involved with us.

After speaking with a few of these we decided to team up with Assetto Motorsport.

Assetto have racked up a huge number of championship victories in the past, They also understood exactly what level of support we needed from them.

To top it off the full team came across so helpful - we literally couldn't refuse to join forces

Looking to the future, following on from the 2020 GRDC season my ambition is to progress into the Ginetta Cup Series.

Despite the Ginetta Championships offering great value for money, I am still looking to seek out additional sponsorship by offering a number of great opportunities to both business and individuals 

​

IMPORTANT UPDATE - March 2020

Due to the outbreak of the Corona Virus the whole world has been massively impacted.
